Last month, Oxford announced that “selfie” was the Word of the Year for 2013. If you’re unsure what a selfie is, it’s a self-portrait photograph taken by a camera or a smartphone’s camera and is then uploaded to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social media outlets. Although a selfie and social networking might seem harmless, are they destroying human empathy and the positive characteristics that are embodied in all of us?

We report primarily on economic matters and the potential collapse of the economy, but it’s also important to remind readers of the collapse of the traditional human.
