There is a labor shortage occurring in the United States today. Whether it is in healthcare or low-skilled jobs, the numbers suggest that there are many jobs going unfilled, and that is dangerous for the nation.
Now, there are two issues that need to be considered: the failure of the government education system and the need for immigration.
According to a new report from the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), job openings spiked 461,000 to a seasonally adjusted 6.2 million. This is the highest it has been since December 2000.
Here is an interesting point from Reuters:
Hiring increased to 5.5 million in June from 5.4 million prior month. The hiring rate was unchanged at 3.7 percent. The gap between job openings and hiring points to a skills mismatch.
Many American graduates today are unqualified for jobs because they focus on gender studies, dance theory and sociology. As students from China, India and Israel hone their skills in the hard sciences – science, technology, engineering and mathematics – American kids are going to college to learn about how to hate white people, how to learn about “The Simpsons” and how to identify as one of the 2,300 different genders.
This is why you want immigration, and why you should champion the H1-B Visa. There may be some resentment towards immigration, but that should only be based on welfare issues and priorities by the government. Immigrants provide an economic benefit when they come into the country and work as opposed to entering the country and leeching off of taxpayers.
