Economic Collapse News has reported on the dangers and costs associated with post-secondary education. There have been reports that more than 5,000 PhDs are working as janitors, while some students are turning to stripping or sugar daddies.
A new report by the Center for College Affordability and Productivity shows that people who are trying to attain or have already obtained a Bachelor’s Degree are wasting their time and money because of the job statistics.
Here is a look at education and the job market:
– 48 percent of employed American workers are in jobs that require less than a four-year college education
– 11 percent of employed college graduates are in positions that require more than a high school diploma but less than a Bachelor’s.
– 37 percent are in jobs that require nothing more than a high school diploma
“Past and projected future growth in college enrollments and the number of graduates exceeds the actual or projected growth in high-skilled jobs, explaining the development of the underemployment problem and its probable worsening in future years.”
With the tremendous tuition rates and the high debt levels just to receive a paper, you may want to think twice about that degree in ancient history, philosophy, film or sociology.
