Although the entire story certainly isn’t told, such as the causative factors of the economic collapse, the charts I link to below illustrate quite well some of the symptoms of an ailing economy that is not showing signs of improvement.
The labor force participation rate has been dwindling even though there continues to be many more working age people that should be in the workforce. And those who are employed are earning less.
The number of households in poverty has also been increasing since 2007, which correlates to the increasing number of Americans on food stamps.
Obviously all of the government’s stimulus programs are not working. In fact, the economic policies of the U.S. government and the Federal Reserve are causing economic depression just as they did with the Great Depression. Now they are causing the Greater Depression.
