Although the mainstream media and establishment like to portray preppers as paranoiac conspiracy theorists, those who prepare in event of a disaster or an emergency might be the ones to have it correct: adapt or die.
Indeed, there is an array of preppers: from those who are ready to sit it out for a few days to those who are prepared for an economic collapse, nuclear meltdowns, natural disasters and even military coups.
According to a new poll, more than three-quarters (76 percent) of preppers believe the most likely disaster that will wreak havoc is an economic collapse. An economic collapse is defined as “a devastating breakdown of a national, regional, or territorial economy.”
The survey was conducted with 1,840 prepper respondents and many involved in the preparation industry concur with the survey’s conclusions.
“Given the recent concerns with a U.S. fiscal cliff, the banking meltdown in Europe, and the unsustainable accumulation of debt by governments around the world, this response is not so surprising,” said Marjory Wildcraft, a leader in the survival and preparedness industry, in a press release.

Virtually All the different senarios that I have heard of as a reason to be better prepared will result in an economic collapse. Natural or man-made disasters, regardless of catagory.
This economy is a false economy and the fiat currency that we use daily only has value as long as there is confidence in it. But in a moments notice that can , and will change.
Then food, personal hygene supplies, toiletpaper will become currency of the times.
