Infographic: U.S. spends $1.06 trillion each year on education

The United States education system is abysmal to say the least. In order to improve test scores and grades, government school proponents say, the government must increase public funding and give teachers more money every year.

Is this the solution? Well, the U.S. has already spent an enormous amount of money on government education, but the nation has had a terrible return on investment, considering that countries that spend less are seeing better results.

Just how much does the U.S. spend on primary, secondary and post-secondary education? According to this infographic produced by TopEducationDegrees.org, public officials spend $1.06 trillion of your tax dollars, which is more than the gross domestic products of Australia, Saudi Arabia and Poland.

This doesn’t include all of the $1 trillion student loan debt that college students and graduates are in right now.
