The Economist Intelligence Unit released its annual “liveability index.” The index is comprised of 30 factors in 140 cities around the world. Some of the key components consist of infrastructure, environment, healthcare, safety and education. This year’s list was dominated by Australia and Canada.
Here is the top 10 list of best places to live in the world:
- Melbourne
- Vienna
- Vancouver
- Toronto
- Calgary
- Adelaide
- Sydney
- Helsinki
- Perth
- Auckland

Every one of those locations have very restrictive gun laws. Being unable to defend oneself is not an indication of living in a “safe” environment.

Being an American (Atlanta)who know lives in Sydney, I am much safer here being able to rely on my physical prowess than on being a victim of a teenager with a pistol on the streets of the U.S.
Cops here are also far less likely to beat/kill you.
