In recent years, amid the enormous credit card debt levels engulfing the Western world, the trend has been for consumers to use their debit cards instead of their credit alternatives. Although this move does have good intentions, using a credit card comes with various benefits, but only if you pay off the balance immediately and not carry one into the new month paying enormous interest rates.

1. Online purchases
2. Gas
3. Hotels
4. Large purchases
5. Dubious places (convenience store, no-name ATM, random restaurants)
