President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama continue leading quite the lavish lifestyle all on the taxpayers’ dime. According to a new report, the First Family’s Valentine’s Day getaway, which was spent separately, was very expensive: at least $2.5 million.
The president spent the day golfing and delivering a speech in the state of California, while his wife took a skiing trip to Aspen with their daughters.
The details consist of President Obama traveling to The Golden State for a fundraiser and a speech and then spending another three days playing golf at an exclusive resort. Meanwhile, Michelle and her daughters went skiing in Aspen.
Figures suggest that Air Force One costs $228,288 per hour to operate. Since it was a ten-hour return trip to California, it is estimated that taxpayers were charged nearly $2.3 million. In addition to this, the First Lady’s skiing trip was another $100,000.
Altogether with accommodations, transportation and security, the weekend break was billed to the taxpayers at the cost of $2.5 million.
The only silvering lining is the fact that the president spent less time coming up with illogical and unscrupulous schemes to fleece the United States taxpayer.
