Will a human rights tribunal intervene? Will the United Nations involve itself into the internal affairs of Canada? Will federal legislation be proposed to prevent this grave injustice from happening ever again? Whatever the case, something must be done so no politician should never experience such a horrific ordeal again.
Sorry, that can’t be written with a straight face any longer.
A Conservative Senator in Canada is upset with the nation’s auditor general for wondering why she couldn’t have eaten a free airline meal instead of charging taxpayers for an additional one.
Nancy Ruth, who lives in Toronto and was first appointed to the Senate in 2005 by then-Prime Minister Paul Martin, is rebelling against the AG for inquiring with former and current senators on their dubious account expenses. In Ruth’s case, the AG is pondering as to why she couldn’t have eaten the complimentary airline food in first class.
“There are a couple times that my assistant put in (receipts) for a breakfast when I was on a plane, and they say, I should have not claimed because I should have eaten that breakfast,” she told reporters. “Well those breakfasts are pretty awful, if you want ice cold Camembert and broken crackers.”
Ruth further took on an arrogant attitude by claiming that people don’t understand what it’s like to travel across the globe. “I just don’t think they understand anything of what it’s like to have to fly around the world to get here to Ottawa.”
Not only is her choice of dairy coming into question but also her living and travel expenses. Between Dec. 1, 2014 and Feb. 28, 2015, the “feminist activist” charged taxpayers just under $5,800 in living expenses in Ottawa and more than $11,000 in travel expenses between Toronto and Ottawa, which takes less than an hour by plane.
For those of you who are unaware of the Senate, it’s pretty much superfluous and just a matter of tradition. Senators are appointed by the prime minister, outrank elected members of the House of Commons and do not reject or intervene in parliamentary bills.
Despite their lack of work, Canadian Senators earn $138,700 per year.

It would be almost SINFUL to eat cold Camembert and crackers… ESPECIALLY if BROKEN… on an airline flight – Especially when you are among the very most Elite go Government Officials – NOT. Obviously your tastes are above the needs of “ordinary” people of Canada. I suggest you leave your post so that you may eat properly at ALL times.
