Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul has officially thrown his name into the hat to become the next President of the United States in 2016. It has been a busy couple of days as he has released his campaign ideas, held a presidential campaign launch and got into a heated interview with NBC “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie.” The exchange can be seen below, but here is a bit of a rundown of what happened.
Guthrie tried implying that Paul has flip-flopped on a number of issues since 2007, which then prompted the senator to accuse her of “editorializing” instead of asking questions.
“Why don’t we let me explain instead of talking over me, OK? Before we go through a litany of things you say I’ve changed on, why don’t you ask me a question, ‘Have I changed my opinion?’ That would be sort of a better way to approach an interview,” stated Paul.
“No, no, you’ve editorialized,” Paul said. “No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,” Paul said. “Listen, you’ve editorialized.”
Paul is certainly not his father, but some of his campaign pledges have been pretty good thus far, including congressional term limits, an audit of the Federal Reserve and reforming Social Security. He has also suggested a flat tax.
