Since South Carolina announced that it was taking down the Confederate flag from public spaces because of the devastating shooting in Charleston, an array of companies reacted by confirming they’re also removing Confederate products from their inventories.
But here’s a question: why aren’t they also removing Nazi memorabilia, too?
A simple search on Amazon will show a wide variety of items related to the Nazis being sold, including clothing, coins and flags.
The Nazis created more destruction, misery and bloodshed than the Confederates ever did. Although the Civil War debate is being rejuvenated – it’s never reported that Lincoln was a racist, the North was filled with racists, the Civil War was fought over northern aggression and Lincoln just wanted to preserve the union – this shouldn’t really be about the needless battle that killed 600,000.
Instead, many companies should stop trying to be politically correct or should be consistent. If you’re banning the sale of Confederate flags then ban the sale of Nazi coins, flags and other memorabilia, too. Come on, Amazon and Costco, be consistent in your thinking!
