Donald Trump, the GOP frontrunner and billionaire real estate mogul, took part in a Twitter Q&A session called #asktrump. He answered questions in his typical vague fashion, but it one area he was definitive.
Trump was asked by one Twitter user if he would “forgo the presidential salary if elected.” Trump responded that he would not take $1 from the American taxpayer if he’s elected next year.
“As far as the salary is concerned, I won’t take even one dollar,” Trump said. “I am totally giving up my salary if I become president.”
Trump also reiterated that he is self-funding his campaign, and the only money he takes is the small stuff from people who invest in the campaign.
