Slowly but surely, 2016 Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina is gaining momentum and inching ever so closer to Donald Trump. She, as well as Trump and Ben Carson, is viewed as an outsider, and someone who is different than the average politician.
This is why she is beating Jeb Bush in some polls and trouncing guys like Marco Rubio, Mike Huckabee and Chris Christie. Heck, in one-on-one matchup polls, Fiorina is even doing very well against Hillary Clinton.
But one pundit believes that just because she is an outsider it doesn’t mean her views are any different than from the establishment Republicans or Democrats.
David Stockman, former Reagan budget director and bestselling author of “The Great Deformation,” published an article Wednesday entitled “Clueless Carly———Crony Capitalist Warmonger With Flash Cards.” He writes:
“Carly Fiorina proved at least one thing last week. Namely, you don’t have to be a career GOP politician to come across as a war-mongering neocon and abortion-bashing statist demagogue. She took the stage fully formed as a frightul modern-day Torquemada, threatening to bring fire and brimstone down on anyone running afoul of her righteous indignation and crystal clear grasp of the Truth.”
He cites her support for military might and constant military intervention. Instead of being someone who will take on the status quo and represent something different, Fiorina is just more of the same: wars, big government, wars, foreign interventionst, wars and support of regime change. Oh, and war.
Stockman also touts her record as head of Hewlett Packard:
“Thus, during the approximate six years of her tenure between 1999 and 2005, HPQ earned net income of $12.6 billion, but pumped $16.4 billion back into Wall Street in the form of stock buybacks ($11.7 billion) and dividends ($4.7 billion). Needless to say, distributing 130% of net income to shareholders is a mathematically unsustainable strategy, but most especially in the investment and innovation driven world of big tech.”
Simply put: Donald Trump may not necessarily be wrong when he criticizes her record in the private sector. Whether she’s running a company or living in the White House, Fiorina may be in over her head, despite her commendable career in the business world.
Jill Ballenger says
I just don’t like Fiorino. She impresses me as a petty, vindictive B—-. She’s like the female version of Trump, without the business sense. And… she IS ugly. I’m a woman, so I can say that. Ugly inside and out. She totally lied about that video, and whether or not you’re anti-abortion, a lie is a still a lie. She refuses to admit to it, just like Trump. Just another politician who’ll say anything to get elected.
