What an economy the United States has!
Back in the day, hookers and sex workers would enter their trade to earn enough money for drugs, alcohol and maybe rent. Today, however, those who voluntarily become sex workers are doing so to help pay down their student loans. And one pimp is offering to help.
Dennis Hof, owner of Moonlite BunnyRanch, a legal brothel in the state of Nevada, has announced that all new sex workers will be helped with their student loans. According to Hof, he will match student loan payments equal to what each woman earns prostituting herself.
Reportedly, the offer will be good for up to 60 days of sex working. Another qualifier is that each woman must have attended a two- or four-year university that has been accredited.
Interestingly enough, Hof noted that he has been able to take on local college girls because sociology professors actually bring their classes to his whorehouse. That should be an interesting class trip. Perhaps students wouldn’t necessarily do well on their written exam, but they may ace their oral exams. We’re just kidding…
Here is a statement from Hof:
“I had a University of Michigan cheerleader named Krissy Summers come to the Bunny Ranch a few years ago after she was $40,000 in debt with student loans. She paid them all off in two months. She even ended up liking the business and staying long enough to fund her graduate studies.”
He added:
“Each year a couple of the students end up coming back to fill out applications. I never forget a pretty face, and when I see the girl working as one of our legal prostitutes and I ask her where I know her from, she always says ‘the sociology department’s field trip!’”
The BunnyRanch was also profiled by John Stossel a little while ago:
Now, before you jump to the conclusion that this is a vile institution. Take a gander at what renowned economist Walter Block wrote about pimps in his groundbreaking book “Defending the Undefendable.”
“The function of the pimp qua pimp is that of a broker. In the same way as do brokers of real estate, insurance, stock market shares, investments, commodity futures, etc., the pimp serves the function of bringing together two parties to a transaction at less cost than it would take to bring them together without his good offices. Each party to a transaction served by a broker gains from the brokerage, otherwise they would not patronize him. And so it is in the case of the pimp. The customer is spared useless or wasteful waiting and searching time. It is easier to phone a pimp for an assignation with a prostitute than to spend time and effort searching one out. The customer also has the security of knowing that the prostitute comes recommended.”
Block eloquently adds:
“The prostitute benefits too. She gains the time that would otherwise be spent in searching for the customer. She is also protected by the pimp—from undesirable customers, and from policemen, part of whose profession, qua profession, is to prevent prostitutes from engaging in voluntary trade with consenting adults. Assignations arranged by the pimp afford the prostitute additional physical security over street walking or bar hopping.”
Prostitution and the overall sex trade may be morally repugnant niches, but pimps do offer benefits for their employees.

This better be an equal opportunity employer. I expect to see plenty of men and fat women working at the bunnyranch getting their student loans paid off too.
