Bernie Sanders, the self-identified socialist presidential candidate who is resonating with many people in the United States, isn’t too fond of billionaires and millionaires, except if they donate to his campaign.
The Vermont Senator claims that he shuns the rich and has criticized campaigns that rely on wealthy fundraisers. This sounds like intellectual consistency and a strong constitution. But, unfortunately, it’s not true.
The New York Times reported that Sanders attended a Wednesday night opulent Hollywood fundraiser at the home of Syd Leibovitch, a wealthy real estate mogul, and his wife, Linda.
The newspaper had obtained an invitation to the political fundraiser, which had tickets going for $500 a piece. Attendees who donated the maximum $2,7000, or who had been able to raise $10,000, were invited to a pre-event reception. It had 14 co-hosts, including Cindy Asner, the former wife of the actor Ed Asner, the actress Mimi Kennedy and Benjamin W. Decker.
Here is what the invitation says:
“Please join me in supporting Bernie. I believe that every American has a responsibility to participate in our democracy and that’s why I’m supporting Bernie Sanders. He has consistently stood up against big money in politics and has been unwavering in his commitment to working people. Healthcare, education, clean water and air — these are but a few of our inalienable rights as Americans and rights that Bernie has consistently fought for. Join me as we ignite the revolution that catapults us to greatness.”
It’s estimated that more than $150,000 was raised from about 300 people.
The Sanders denied it was being hypocritical because it still does not have a SuperPAC.

You failed to mention that there were tickets for $25. Hardly including only the ruch
