Prices are essential to the marketplace. Without prices, we would have an economy in disarray and it would pretty much resort in shortages, widespread chaos and suffering.
The communists and socialists tried a system of zero pricing, but we all have seen how that has worked out. Central planners tried to determine what was needed, what has necessary and what the people wanted. In the end, they had to use the old Sears catalog to find out what the right prices were. Oy vey!
