Donald Trump doesn’t seem to like Ted Cruz very much, especially since the Texas Senator has gone up in the polls.
Speaking at a campaign rally in the early voting state of New Hampshire, the real estate billionaire mogul and Republican frontrunner accused Cruz of hypocrisy and being bought and controlled by Wall Street.
After talking about Cruz’s failure to disclose two $500,000 loans from big banks to fund his 2012 senate campaign, Trump said “he’s being a great hypocrite.”
“You know, he talks about he’s going to be Robin Hood, he’s protecting, then it finds out on his personal disclosure form he didn’t disclose that he’s borrowing a lot of money from Goldman Sachs,” Trump told a crowd of supporters.
He added that Cruz’s claims of making a “paperwork error” just don’t add up since filed for the same procedure for various loans.
“And he said, oh well he forgot. And then so he forgot about Goldman Sachs, but then today they have another story where he forgot another bank, Citibank, where he forgot,” Trump said. “So he obviously didn’t want the voters to know he is totally controlled lock, stock and barrel by Citibank and by Goldman Sachs. And I think that’s very hypocritical, I’ll be honest with you, I think it’s very, very hypocritical.”
Trump and Cruz are statistically tied in the state of Iowa. In New Hampshire, Trump is close to 20 points ahead of his nearest rival, Marco Rubio. Nationally, it’s the same thing: Trump pummeling all of his GOP opponents into submission.
