That’s right. We’re all just a bunch of babies.
Pope Francis to Donald Trump: You’re Not a Christian
Pope Francis, a Jesuit Communist, has chastized Donald Trump and accused the GOP frontrunner and billionaire real estate mogul of not being a Christian. Why is he not a Christian in the eyes of Pope Francis? Because Trump wants to deport Mexican illegals and build a wall to keep people from entering the country illegally.
“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian,” Francis said when a reporter asked him about Trump.
Interesting. Does Pope Francis not know that he lives in an area that is surrounded by a wall? Talk about hypocrisy! How embarrassing for those who look up to Pope Francis.
Meanwhile, Trump responded to the Pope’s comments during a rally Thursday and had this to say:
“For a religious leader to question a person’s faith is disgraceful,” Trump said at a campaign stop in South Carolina. “I am proud to be a Christian and as president I will not allow Christianity to be consistently attacked and weakened.”
Government Wants You to Snitch Online
If you’ve taken a bus recently or watched television then you have probably noticed signs on the wall sponsored by the federal government urging you to “see something, say something.” Well, that has moved to the world of the Internet.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is asking for $1 million to start a citizen surveillance program on the Internet. The Public Service Announcement (PSA) “will look to raise public and private sector awareness of cybersecurity and to emphasize the importance of cyber awareness and information safekeeping.”
Essentially, any website that you think is terrorist-related or any social media account promoting terrorism should be reported to the authorities immediately.
Is this an effective program? Well, like any other state initiative, the simple answer is nope.
“There have been no people stopped from doing an act of terror, there have been no people charged with terror through the informants that have come forward,” Harvey Molotch, an NYU sociologist, told New York magazine.
Hillary Clinton Accepts Money From ‘Robber Baron’
This is a goody. Does the hypocrisy from Hillary Clinton ever stop?
Speaking during a campaign speech in Chicago on Wednesday, Clinton criticized Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner and compared him to a “robber baron” of the 19th century. It seems, however, that she didn’t mind the robber baron’s money in the summer of 2014 when she took $280,000 as a payment to speak at the private equity firm GTCR. At the time of her 2014 speech, Rauner was chairman of the board.
“Your governor has refused to start budget negotiations unless his so-called turn-around agenda gets passed first,” Clinton said. “His plan would turn Illinois around alright. All the way back to the time of the robber barons at the end of the 19th century.”
With all of this dirt and the blatant hypocrisy, how does Clinton even have any support from the general public?
Alberta Government Banning Media From Events
The Alberta New Democratic Party is partaking in media censorship. Premier Rachel Notley gained national attention, not for her destruction of the oil-rich province, but for banning journalists from covering events.
The Alberta NDP decided to prohibit The Rebel, a conservative media outlet founded by right-wing pundit Ezra Levant. A spokesperson for the premier said Tuesday that The Rebel wasn’t a “journalistic source” and its journalists weren’t allowed to attend government press events.
However, one day later, after national condemnation from newspapers and media outlets on both sides of the aisle, the provincial government backtracked and decided to allow The Rebel inside the press conferences and media events.
“We’ve heard a lot of feedback from Albertans and media over the course of the last two days and it’s clear we made a mistake,” the premier’s office said in a statement Wednesday.
It’s a slippery slope when a government decides what’s a journalist and what isn’t. Good on Canadian outlets in defending Levant, even though many inside the media landscape can’t stand him.
Americans Would Definitely Feel the Burn: Study
A new study by The Tax Foundation compared the tax plans from the leading presidential candidates. One of them, of course, is Bernie Sanders, whose tax plan, say the researchers, would kill about six million jobs in the United States and lead to minimized growth in output, wages and capital investment.
Anyone who has followed the campaign of Sanders understand that this isn’t the only area he would fail in.
To compare the candidates, the think tank released a chart:
With so much information about the destructive policies of Sanders and socialism overall, why are millennials attracted to socialism? Joy Pullman and Emily Ekins of The Federalist may have the answer (hint: it has something to do with “everybody gets a trophy”).
The fact that millennials disproportionately think that all kids deserve a trophy regardless of achievement probably at least partly explains their disproportionate support for Sanders. While millennials could forever be a “everybody gets a trophy” generation, as young people take on more responsibilities—buy a house, get married, have kids, get a promotion, start paying noticeable taxes, and work long hours—they may start to think their hard work and sacrifices should be rewarded more.
Of course, millennials don’t know any better. For years, they’ve been told how wonderful socialism is by their teachers and professors. Plus, with safe spaces and trigger warnings, any opinion that differs from what they’ve programmed with could be considered a microaggression. What a pity…
