Canadians Indebted Like Never Before
There are three things Canadians love: hockey, the Liberal Party and debt. According to new numbers from Statistics Canada, the ratio of household debt compared to disposable income reached another record high in the fourth quarter of 2015. The report shows that the ratio increased to 165.4 percent, up from 164.5 percent in the previous quarter.
In simple terms: the average Canadian household is $1.65 in debt for every dollar of disposable income.
This comes as total household credit market debt (consumer credit, mortgage and non-mortgage loans) rose 1.2 percent to $1.923 trillion.
Ben Carson Endorses Donald Trump
Ben Carson, who Donald Trump likened to a pedophile a few months ago, has officially endorsed Trump for President of the United States on Friday. Carson, a few days after ending his bid for the White House, called Trump an “actually a very intelligent man who cares deeply about America.”
Carson praised Trump and said that there “are two different Donald Trumps.”
“There’s the one you see on the stage, and there’s the one who’s very cerebral, sits there and considers things very carefully. You can have a very good conversation with him. And that’s the Donald Trump that you’re going to start seeing more and more of right now.”
If Trump becomes president, will Carson have a major role in his cabinet?
TrudeauMania Runs Wild in Washington
It seems TrudeauMania is running wild in Washington this week. U.S. President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama held a state dinner for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife, Sophie (she didn’t sing!), which was described as a “bromance” and love fest. Ostensibly, everyone in Washington has just fallen in love with the selfie-obsessed PM, referring to him as a “hot,” “dreamy” and “beautiful.”
What’s interesting is that, since being elected a majority government this past fall, it seems he has spent more time abroad than in Canada. Trudeau perhaps wants to be an international rockstar, like his father, than actually face the music back at home (his first few months in office have already been a disappointment).
Canadians better get used to this, though. It looks like Trudeau will have a Liberal government for at least the next decade. How frightening.
We Get It: The Establishment Hates Gold
Ever since 2016 presidential candidate and Texas Senator Ted Cruz alluded to a quasi-gold standard, the establishment has been up in arms. They have chastized Cruz for even simply talking about a gold standard. It’s as if a gold standard would ever return to the United States if Cruz were elected. It simply won’t happen.
That hasn’t prevented former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy Phillip Swagel from criticizing Cruz (again) for his mentioning of a gold standard. Here is what Swagel, who admitted he didn’t see the 2008 economic collapse coming, tweeted on Thursday:
“Cruz VAT would raise prices, and not boost exports. His gold standard would cause a recession. It’s the economic equivalent of laetrile.”

An American as Next Ukrainian Prime Minister?
An American leading Ukraine? That’s been the buzz for the last week or so.
There’s a lot of talk that there is going to be a “blatant U.S. take over of a country on Russia’s doorstep.” How is the U.S. going to accomplish this? Installing Natalie Jaresko, an American and Ukraine citizen and investment banker, as prime minister of Ukraine. Jaresko was recently appointed as the Eastern European nation’s finance minister.
So, not only did the U.S. help overthrow a democratically elected government a few years ago, the U.S. now wants to embrace a “colonial experiment” by installing who it wants to.
Daniel McAdams, a geopolitical analyst of the Ron Paul Institute, outlines what’s exactly going on with Loud & Clear:
“The first thing that Jaresko did as finance minister is she sent a letter to John McCain saying they need more weapons, she is a corrupt war hawk. She is representative of the worst, most corrupt type of Americans that are sent into these countries.
“What it really shows Ukrainians is how rich you can get if you are a phony, fake capitalist. Out of these funds, she paid her own company millions of dollars in fees. She is just a corrupt disaster.
“The US was saying the reason why Yanukovych had to be overthrown was this terrible corruption, we’re going to get rid of this terrible government and we are going to bring in this new government that is the model of democratic reform. Well, look at how Ukraine has sunk.
“The corruption is worse now than it ever was under Yanukovych. The economy is nonexistent, regular infusions of US money are the only thing that keeps the country alive, and politically it cannot get anything done because fights regularly break out in parliament.”
And Justin Trudeau wants the Americans to pay more attention to the world? No thanks!
