Didn’t Republicans want to cut spending? Apparently not, at least according to new data from Fiscal Fact Check.
The organization released a new chart that pretty much answered the question: how much would each of the remaining Republican and Democratic candidates increase, not cut, government spending?
According to the chart below, socialist Bernie Sanders would increase government spending by 33 percent, while his rival, Hillary Clinton, would boost it by two percent. In the Republican field, Texas Senator Ted Cruz would raise it by six percent, while the frontrunner, Donald Trump, would increase it by three percent.
Ohio Governor John Kasich, who is still staying in this race in the hopes of a brokered convention, would actually cut it by two percent. It should be noted, however, that the report authors didn’t have enough data from the Kasich campaign to crunch the exact numbers. But, heck, at least it’s a step in the right direction.
Trump is leading the delegate count with 755 delegates, while Clinton is leading with 1,289 delegates.
