So, when will the pundits, politicians and economists start advocating policies that hurt Asian men and women? Let’s not give them any ideas!
According to new data from the Pew Research Center’s review of Current Population Survey, when you break down median hourly earnings by ethnicity, race and sex, Asian men earn more than everyone else in the United States today.
The report found that, when honing in on full- or part-time workers over the age of 16, Asian men received $24 in median hourly earnings last year. This is higher than the $21 white men earned.
Even Asian women are posting high numbers. The median hourly earnings for Asian women were $18, compared to $17 for white women. Heck, Asian women earned more than black and Hispanic men in 2015.
Bloomberg News continues:
“Drilling down further, median hourly earnings for Asian and white men 25 and older who have only a bachelor’s degree are even ($30); Asian men make more among those with an advanced degree ($40 vs. $37). And for women, Asians with only a bachelor’s degree make more than whites ($25 vs. $23), as do those with advanced degrees ($31 vs. $29).”
What exactly is happening here? Pew Senior Economist Richard Fry believes that it has to do with the field of study that Asian men take. They tend to choose more advanced degrees and occupations than whites and other ethnicities.
This isn’t really anything new. As you can tell from the chart below (SEE: Chart: A look at U.S. median household incomes for ethnic groups), Asian minority groups are faring quite well in the Land of the Free. Is this a matter of “hard work matters” and marginal productivity levels?
No wonder why the mainstream media always eliminate Asians from the victimhood pool.
In the end, white men aren’t controlling the U.S. or your life choices.
