Marvin Bush is voting for Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson in November.
The brother of former President George W. Bush and the son of former President George H.W. Bush, who works as an investment banker, told a radio station that he won’t be supporting Republican nominee Donald Trump or Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
Instead, he’ll support the LP because it has more traditional Republicans (is that a compliment or an insult?)
“That’s why I’m voting Libertarian. A hundred percent … both Gary Johnson and Bill Weld were each successful two-term governors who balanced their budgets, so they’re fiscally conservative, and their essential message is ‘get bureaucracy off our backs,’ which used to be a part of what the Republicans believed.”
After Trump seriously attacked both of his brothers, it would make sense for him not to endorse the GOP nominee. Here is a clip of a heated exchange between Trump and the former Florida Governor:
What may concern many libertarians is Bush’s support of Johnson. Not only are Jeb Bush and Mitt Romney thinking about casting a vote for Johnson, they also view him and his running mate, Bill Weld, as more conventional Republicans.
Republican-lite is not libertarian at all (SEE: Libertarians for Gary Johnson? 5 reasons libertarians can’t support Johnson).
