Gary Johnson is gaining some ground in several key battleground states.
According to new polling numbers from Wall Street Journal/NBC/Marist, the former New Mexico Republican Governor and Libertarian Party presidential candidate is increasing his support across the United States. Although he’s averaging between eight and 12 percent in the last several polls, Johnson is getting the support in important places like Virginia, North Carolina and Florida.
Here is a look at the latest figures:
– Colorado: 15 percent, up from 13 percent.
– Florida: nine percent, up from seven percent.
– North Carolina: nine percent, up from seven percent.
– Virginia: 12 percent support, up from 10 percent.
Overall, the poll shows that he stands at 12 percent.
With two awful choices for president, more voters may be interested in Johnson. This could be significantly amplified should the Libertarian Party nominee, or even Green Party nominee Jill Stein, make it in the debates. The Commission on Presidential Debates said that there is room to modify the 15 percent requirement (SEE: Commission says Gary Johnson could be in the U.S. presidential debates).
Do you think Johnson is a wasted vote? Here is what he says to that:
“A wasted vote is voting for somebody you don’t believe in. That’s a wasted vote. Vote for the person you believe in – that’s how you bring about change. I hope after having made my pitch today that you’ll realize, if you want to waste your vote on Clinton or Trump, have at it.”
Let’s just hope that Johnson becomes more libertarian in the coming weeks (SEE: Libertarians for Gary Johnson? 5 reasons libertarians can’t support Johnson).
