Wall Street is a great friend of Hillary Clinton and a massive contributor to her speaking career and presidential campaign. One of the biggest Wall Street supporters is Goldman Sachs, and this is something confirmed by its CEO, Lloyd Blankfein.
Speaking in an interview with CNN, Blankfeind told Fareed Zakaria that he is “supportive” of Clinton.
“I’m supportive of Hillary Clinton,” Blankfein said. “Yes, so flat out, yes, I do. That doesn’t say that I agree with all of her policies. I don’t. And that doesn’t say that I adopt everything that she’s done in her political career or has suggested that she might do going forward.”
He added that since Goldman Sachs is “one of the largest banks,” the organization has “influence in the financial system.” Therefore, according to Blankfein, “of course we engage.”
Clinton was paid nearly $700,000 from the financial institution for three speeches. In 2013 alone, Clinton earned $3 million for delivering speeches at banks and financial organizations.
Goldman Sachs recently banned employees from donating to the Donald Trump presidential campaign (SEE: Goldman Sachs bans Trump campaign donations, allows Clinton campaign contributions).
