Is objectivity in journalism dead? When mainstream media reporters are meeting and/or coordinating offline with a particular presidential campaign then you can definitively say yes.
Up to this, according to the tens of thousands of leaked documents, a minimum of 63 mainstream media journalists and anchors met with or coordinated with the advisers from the Hillary Clinton campaign. These members of the media were invited to top dinners with Hillary Campaign Chairman John Podesta or Chief Campaign strategist Joel Benenson.
In April 2015, a minimum of 38 top national reporters were invited to attend a Podesta dinner, which was supposed to be off-the-record. Those who accepted included the likes of ABC’s Diane Sawyer, CNN’s Gloria Borger, MSNBC’s Alex Wagner, Politico’s Glenn Thrush and VOX’s Jon Allen.
In that same month, 25 more reporters were invited to another Podesta dinner. The ones who accepted were CNN’s Dan Merica, Bloomberg’s Jennifer Epstein, CNBC’s John Harwood, the Washington Post’s Anne Gearan and Politico’s Annie Karni.
As the emails have all shown, many reporters actually sent their articles to the Clinton camp before they were published so they can make their suggested edits. Other reporters provided campaigns with advice (SEE: 7 key takeaways from new WikiLeaks release).
It’s sickening to see how in bed the media’s representatives are with the Clinton campaign.
