The United States has met the 1997 Kyoto protocol’s aim of slashing C02 emissions to 1990s levels.
You may not have been told about this, but C02 emissions in the U.S. are at their lowest levels since 1992. Thanks to fracking, oil entrepreneurs and the free market, C02 emissions have fallen significantly without much help from Washington.
Interestingly enough, all of this is really unintentional because the U.S. government hasn’t significantly modified its energy policy. So, no, the government doesn’t need to take more of your money to combat natural climate change.
