Gary Johnson doesn’t have the support of one prominent libertarian icon: Ron Paul.
Former Texas Republican Congressman and three-time presidential candidate Ron Paul confirmed in a recent interview with MSNBC that he will not be voting for Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson in the November election. Just who is he voting for come Election Day? He did not say, but he did note that Green Party nominee Jill Stein is the best on foreign policy.
“He does not come across with a crisp libertarian message,” Paul told the news outlet. “It [Aleppo] doesn’t build confidence in the individual, but it’s not disqualifying. It does raise eyebrows and it puts question marks out there.”
Paul posited that Stein is more aligned with the libertarian platform, at least when it comes to foreign policy.
“I said if the independents who don’t know what to do and who should they pick, I say if you tend to lead progressivism and liberalism and you are interested in expressing yourself — you can vote for the Green Party,” Paul said. “She is probably the best on foreign policy at the moment.”
But that isn’t an endorsement of Stein. In fact, according to Paul himself, he has yet to endorse or support anyone this election cycle.
“I think it’s a little bit of misinformation here because I haven’t endorsed anybody,” he stated.
“I have to look for bits and pieces in all the candidates to come up and try to put it together and have a libertarian message.”
Johnson has made numerous blunders this election cycle. Everything from choosing Bill Weld as his running mate to flip flopping on key libertarian issues, Johnson has failed to elicit the support of die hard Ron Paul libertarians. And the paucity of a key message could be why he is now garnering just around three percent support.

“Recent interview”?
“Recent” as in a couple months ago? This is old.
Also I will believe Ron Paul is not voting for Gary Johnson when I hear those exact words come directly out of his mouth. He did not say anything remotely like that in the video presented here.
As Ron Paul has said, the biased news media is not his friend — and they are not ours either.

0:42 Ron Paul: “Well I think there is a little bit of misinformation here…”

This headline is a lie, pure and simple. There is nothing in the video to back up its claim.

Well johnson is a idiot, between him and bob barr thats 12 years that the libertarians have not had my vote and i’ve been a libertarian since 1992. The biggest surprise i’ve had this long 2 year election cycle is how much my respect for gov weld has risen.

I am disappointed that Ron Paul did not mention Darrell Castle and the Constitution party..He has endorsed them in the past, but maybe their inability to get on more state ballots is holding him back from doing son.
