Yep, Donald Trump is really draining the swamp by bringing in key Washington insiders into the fold…
According to several reports, Rudy Giuliani is topping the list as the next Secretary of State, while Jeff Sessions is being considered the top man for the Secretary of Defense. This is scary, and should definitely upset any Trump supporter who demanded real change in Washington.
Why should you be frightened of Giuliani as the Secretary of State? Let’s take a look back to 2008:
Now, why should Sessions concern you as the Secretary of Defense? Let’s take a look at his record:
- Supported the war in Iraq; accused opponents of not representing American ideals.
- Supported expanding NATO’s role to include Eastern Europe.
- Opposed limiting the president’s power to impose economic sanctions on other countries.
- His biggest campaign contributors were legal, health, real estate and insurance industries.
- Supported the expansion of the PATRIOT Act.
So far, you can conclude that Trump’s administration is just more of the same. But, if you followed his run for the White House at the midway point, you could already see the writing on the wall. His administration, barring minor differences, will be similar to the Bush and Obama administrations.
Drain the swamp? With these types of people advising Trump, it is unlikely to happen.
Real change would be bringing in Ron Paul as Secretary of State or Secretary of Defense (SEE: As petition demands cabinet position, Ron Paul doubts Trump will ‘drain the swamp’).
