What may perhaps be the funniest news story in a long time, the White House defended President Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize eight years later.
After reporters had questioned White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest about Obama’s acceptance of the devalued prize, he stated that Obama himself feels that he as “lived up to the standard he set up for himself in that speech.”
“The president is quite proud of his record,” Earnest – who couldn’t have been in earnest at all in his remarks! – concluded.
Let’s take a look at Obama’s record on foreign policy during his administration:
– Continued and expanded military combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.
– Expanded and launched an aggressive drone program that attacks terrorists and citizens in eight countries.
– Destabilized an entire nation, Libya, because the leader wanted to back off the U.S. dollar.
– Enhanced the president’s war-making powers prior to leaving the Oval Office.
– 2,500 Americans were killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan.
– The total number of war deaths under the Obama regime is estimated to be 200,000.
– Murdered two American citizens without due process.
This is just the tip of the ice berg, and it suggests that the Nobel Peace Prize is a joke. Unless Peace is actually defined as war and death then Obama certainly earned the award.
In many ways, Obama has been as bad or perhaps even worse than his predecessor, George W. Bush. The only good thing you could say about Obama is that he did not invade Iran as many had initially prognosticated. Instead, he made up for this by invading Libya and killing American citizens without due process.
