The gifts in the famous “12 Days of Christmas” song have gotten more expensive this year.
According to the PNC Bank’s PNC Christmas Price Index, the items in the “12 Days of Christmas” would cost you $34,363.49. This is up 0.7%, or $232.50, from last year.
When compared to last year, eight prices stayed the same. The biggest increase was found for two turtle doves, which is up 29.3 percent. The gift of 11 pipers piping is up nearly three percent because of wage increases. Also, 12 drummers drumming would cost you 2.8 percent more this year.
If you want a partridge in a pear tree then you can expect to spend less this year as it’s down 2.3 percent thanks to a surplus of birds.
