The latest talking point from the mainstream media and politicians is that fake news is taking control of the political process. Despite being the champions of fake news, the mainstream media is encouraging the likes of Facebook and Google to rein in supposed sources of fake news, which is rather preposterous.
Indeed, all of the propaganda originates from the government and outlets like CNN, New York Times and Salon.
According to Ron Paul, former Texas Republican Congressman and three-time presidential candidate, the allegations of fake news originating from the MSM is “a bit ironic.” Ultimately, says Dr. Paul, it’s simply a matter of “sour grapes” because they got the election wrong.
“The mainstream media and the establishment lost this election. They’ve been as involved in fake news and fake stories as anyone else,” Paul said in an interview with Russia Today.
“I’m very concerned about fake news stories. Where the fake news comes from is our own government.”
He alluded to so-called official economic reports and the constant pushes for more war.
The bestselling author of “The Revolution: A Manifesto” and “End the Fed” explained that the topic of the Russian government interfering in the U.S. political process was just “politics as usual” and now with Donald Trump entering the White House, the media will be seeking out “scapegoats.”
“The ones who are charging us with listening to what Russia tells us to say, they’ve lost all credibility,” he added.
“The two of them could certainly do some talking, and let the public know where they stand on the issues.”
The Washington Post, using a PropOrNot database, recently listed the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity as a “Russian propaganda outlet.” Although Paul thinks this is “flattering,” it is really absurd that Paul’s organization could be considered fake news or a propaganda outfit at all.
Because RPI promotes a non-interventionist foreign policy, free markets and limited government – peace and prosperity! – it somehow is deemed as Russian propaganda. That’s just ridiculous and the compiler of such a list should be ashamed of themselves.
