For the first time in a long time, someone in the mainstream media has finally provided a sane assessment of the allegations that Russia interfered into the 2016 United States election.
Journalist Glenn Greenwald, who is definitely one of the better foreign policy reporters out there today, appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to discuss the media narrative that the government is certain the Kremlin helped Donald Trump win the White House.
Greenwald made an excellent point during the interview by noting that just asking for evidence from the CIA stirs the pot and prompts media outlets to accuse you of sympathizing with Russia and being in the pocket of Vladimir Putin. Are we supposed to take the CIA’s word for it that Moscow inserted Trump in the White House? This is the same organization that has interfered in hundreds of elections around the world and has maintained a policy of deception (SEE: U.S. has interfered in elections for years – now Americans are upset they’re the victims).
This neo-McCarthyism is truly perplexing, especially considering that President Obama and the Democrats repeatedly chastized Mitt Romney in 2012 for pointing to Russia as a grave geopolitical threat.
