Today, United States Director of National Intelligence James Clapper said that the Russian government poses an “existential threat” to the U.S. He told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday that the Russian government hacked the presidential campaign and undermined the election.
Everyone is suddenly buying into Clapper’s arguments without any reserves or further questions. One of these people is Senator John McCain, who said everyone “should be alarmed by Russia’s attacks on our nation.”
McCain added: “There is no national security interest more vital to the United States of America than the ability to hold free and fair elections without foreign interference.”
Does that hold true when the U.S. interferes in foreign elections as well (SEE: U.S. has interfered in elections for years – now Americans are upset they’re the victims)?
But isn’t Clapper the same official who lied to Congress and the American people in March 2013?
During a U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence hearing, Clapper denied that the National Security Agency (NSA) spied on the American people. Of course, three months later, this was proven to be a lie as Edward Snowden revealed that the NSA collected tens of millions of Americans’ phone call records, email usage, chat logs and browsing histories.
Are the American people now expected to believe Clapper when he says Russia is an “existential threat”? He has committed perjury before, and it is quite possible that he is committing perjury again.
Clapper is a proven liar.
JRATT1956 says
Mr. Clapper is just like all the others before him, say what ever will increase your budget and protect your agencies illegal activity.
Rabelrouser says
Untill Clapper, and other “intel” agencies reveal their prima facia evidence; they will be regarded as the government liars that Washington has become over the years.
Their propaganda is worse than most of this nations enemies.
