News Story of the Day: When Donald Trump takes office in a couple of weeks, will the United States economy start to implode? That’s what millennials – those born between 1980 and 2000 – think, at least according to a new study by Country Financial Group, an insurance and investment firm.
The organization’s annual financial security index and discovered that the score was lowest for millennials at 60.9 out of 100. Moreover, millennials were the only generation to believe that 2017 would be worse than 2016.
Meanwhile, millennials also believe that they will not have enough money to retire comfortably, and half of them have not set aside money for a rainy day, whether in a savings account or an investment account.
What do other generations think? Well, the most optimistic was the Silent Generation (71.2), followed by Baby Boombers with 69.2. Generation Xers weren’t too optimistic either with 66.6.

Illustration of the Day: did you hear? The Russians did it! It seems the fashionable thing to do these days is to blame everything on Russia. Did you burn your spaghetti sauce? Blame the Russians. Did your girlfriend catch you cheating? Blame the Russians. Did you lie to the American people? Blame the Russians.
Quote of the Day: Frederic Bastiat is one of the greatest economists in history. He was truly original and understood the inherent problems of government, even during his time. Let’s take a look at one of his greatest quotes of all time:
“Everyone wants to live at the expense of the state. They forget that the state wants to live at the expense of everyone.”
Video of the Day: what did you think of 2016? If you’re a calm, intelligent and mature person then you will likely say that 2016 wasn’t too bad. It was actually a great year in many respects. Of course, if you’re a social justice warrior who gets triggered by the sight of Donald Trump’s hair then you’d likely say 2016 was horrible. What does 2017 have in store for us?
