News Story of the Day: Sargon of Akkad has been suspended from Twitter. This has prompted all of his supporters to help get #FreeSargon trending.
Ostensibly, he was suspended for asking a European Union (EU) official a question on Twitter about mass immigration and terrorism. She has since received a barrage of tweets asking the same question:
Hasn’t mass Islamic immigration to Europe drastically raised the odds of terror attacks, though? @FedericaMog #FreeSargon

Who exactly is Sargon of Akkad? Well, if you haven’t heard of him, he is a political commentator who uses reason and logic to analyze and assess topics of the day. Before you think he is a thinker from the alt-right persuasion, he describes himself as a liberal. Akin to Dave Rubin of The Rubin Report, Sargon of Akkad is a calm, intelligent and rational commentator.
Twitter has really metastasized into a censored cesspool.
Chart of the Day: are people so stupid that the government needs to establish a “Ministry of Truth” to counter so-called fake news? The left thinks that consumers of news will automatically trust what they see on social media, though new data suggest otherwise. The chart below (courtesy of the Business Insider) shows that Americans don’t trust what they read on social media.
Illustration of the Day: the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) posted an interesting map that looked at the slave trade. As you can tell, a bulk of the slave trade from Africa occurred predominantly in South America and the Caribbeans as well as a major portion in Asia. When will Brazil, Cuba and Saudi Arabia pay reparations? Here is the map:
Quote of the Day: you may have heard reports that George Orwell’s classic “1984” has seen a surge in sales on Amazon. Reportedly, the spike in sales is due to Kellyanne Conway’s remark about “alternative facts.” Out of nowhere, people are equating the novel to a Donald Trump administration. But the parallels between “1984” and United States government policy have been around for a long time.
Here are a few excerpts to show that “1984” is a blueprint adopted by numerous U.S. administrations, whether Republican or Democrat, and it isn’t just Trump:
“The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. … We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means, it is an end.”
“The telescreen received and transmitted simultaneously. Any sound that Winston made, above the level of a very low whisper, would be picked up by it; moreover, so long as he remained within the field of vision which the metal plaque commanded, he could be seen as well as heard… How often, or on what system, the Thought Police plugged in on any individual wire was guesswork. It was even conceivable that they watched everybody all the time. You had to live– did live, from habit that became instinct– in the assumption that every sound you made was overheard…every movement scrutinized.”
“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
Do you know the difference between the Republicans and Democrats? One is in power and the other one isn’t.
Video of the Day: for whatever reason, a group of anti-Donald Trump protesters staged a demonstration inside of a library. Since students were likely disrupted by the inane chants of these millennials, one brave Asian gentleman, who has become an Internet sensation, took it upon himself to intervene. His three little words summed it up entirely. Here is the video:
