As the years go by, does anyone really think that the Republicans and Democrats are really any different? If you have had any doubt up until this point then hopefully this will finally persuade you.
Speaking in an interview with MSNBC on Thursday (via The Hill), New York Republican Congressman Chris Collins explained that the GOP would be able to better explain what is inside of their healthcare bill, otherwise colloquially known as Trumpcare or Ryancare, after it is passed.
Here are his exact remarks (emphasis ours):
“In my district, right now there’s a lot of misunderstanding as to what it is we’re doing. And once we get it done, and then we can have the chance to really explain it,” Collins told the network. “At this point in time, it’s a vote to support our president and all of our signature issues, or frankly it’s a vote for Nancy Pelosi and maintaining Obamacare, which is failing.”
Doesn’t that sound awful familiar? If it does then it is because it’s similar to what Nancy Pelosi argued in 2010.
If you don’t remember this goodie, Pelosi told the press and the American people that Congress would have to first pass the 2,000-page legislation in order to discover what was inside.
“We have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it,” Pelosi said numerous times in 2010.
Here is the clip:
What’s the difference between a Republican and a Democrat? One is in power and the other one is not.
