News Story of the Day: many billionaires today are proof that you can make a lot of money but lack basic economic understandings.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg delivered a speech at Harvard’s graduation ceremony, where he called for the government to establish a universal basic income.
“We should have a society that measures progress not just by economic metrics like GDP, but by how many of us have a role we find meaningful. We should explore ideas like universal basic income to give everyone a cushion to try new things,” he said.
“And yes, giving everyone the freedom to pursue purpose isn’t free. People like me should pay for it. Many of you will do well and you should too. That’s why Priscilla and I started the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and committed our wealth to promoting equal opportunity.”
Basic income is already a failed policy in the making. Money just for living, huh? Sad!
Chart of the Day: peer-to-peer decentralized digital currency bitcoin is dominating business headlines again. This is because the virtual currency has doubled in value, and some financial reports suggest that bitcoin could top $25,000. If that’s true then that’s a lot of dough for those early investors. Here is a chart that highlights bitcoin being twice as expensive as gold:
Illustration of the Day: have you seen YouTube’s new logo? It illustrates perfectly how it functions today:
Quote of the Day: the left is upset because some Republican body-slammed a Guardian reporter. The same thing happened to some Democrat a few years ago. Unfortunately, in today’s hot political climate, the left has said it is acceptable to initiate violence against someone you disagree with. Despite the desire to sometimes take down a violent ANTIFA fascist, this should never be embraced – check out this great quote from Ron Paul:
The most important element of a free society, where individual rights are held in the highest esteem, is the rejection of the initiation of violence.
Tweet of the Day: Trump’s wall is pretty absurd – it may keep people from entering, but it may also be used to prevent you from leaving. That said, those on the left and globalists today argue that walls should not be built, except if you’re a politician then walls are perfectly acceptable. Ditto for refugees. It’s OK to bring in scores of refugees, except if they’re close to world leaders:

Will resume when they leave.
