The market has spoken: the University of Missouri is a terrible school.
Ever since a communications professor requested some muscle to prevent a journalist from covering a protest, the University of Missouri, also known as Mizzou, has become the poster child for political correctness and an institution easily caving into the demands of their leftist students, particularly Black Lives Matter.
But this isn’t flying with past graduates and today’s current crop of students looking to attend a university.
After it was reported that Mizzou lost 1,500 students last year and is facing fewer donations – all of this has culminated into a $32 million budget gap – it is now being reported that the university is slashing 400 positions and shutting down seven dormitories.
Mizzou’s library is also requesting donations to purchase 400 books.
The New York Times notes that this isn’t a black versus white issue. Freshman enrollment has tumbled 42 percent among blacks and 21 percent among whites. And, according to Mun Choi, the new University of Missouri System president, students from in-state and out-of-state are shunning the place.
“The general consensus was that it was because of the aftermath of what happened in November 2015. There were students from both in-state and out-of-state that just did not apply, or those who did apply but decided not to attend,” Choi said.
Perhaps Mizzou will return to its senses – if it ever had any – and abandon this Marxist educational initiative. If they don’t, the market will eventually force the institution to shutter its doors. No wonder why professors hate free markets!

No wonder, they are probably seeking a federal bailout because this just ain’t right. Free Market is the only way to get anything right. I don’t know what does the most harm the government or financing. Free money and anything goes, what could possibly go wrong?
