For years, you have heard from the left that the United States government needs to invest in healthcare and education. If only the U.S. spent more on these two issues would all of our problems be solved. You hear this all the time from the Bernie Sanders crowd.
But the U.S. already spends a great deal of money on both of these. They may think that the biggest budgetary item is defense, but it isn’t – it would be great if the U.S. slashed military spending, though!

That’s a lot of money, don’t you think? This is cradle to grave spending right here.
What does it mean when the left says that the government needs to spend more on education and healthcare? Do they not know the U.S. already spends hundreds of billions of dollar a year? It’s ridiculous to think that the state just needs to boost even more funding.
Our hearts may flutter when we utter such platitudes, but there isn’t any basis in fact in these demands.
