In the motion picture “There Will Be Blood,” legendary character Daniel Plainview tells Eli Sunday, “Don’t you look like a fool…”
Well, that’s what President Donald Trump and the Republicans can say to the talking heads over at MSNBC and CNN.
Despite the Tax Cut and Jobs Act (TCJA) containing many flaws, the tax bill slashed the corporate tax rate to 21 percent, from 35 percent. Any tax cut is a good thing, even though the Trump administration and the GOP are refusing to take an ax to the budget.
As a result of a lower corporate tax rate, businesses are raising wages, offering hefty bonuses, expanding operations, revising employee benefits, and even increasing 401(k) matches. Walmart, Boeing, Wells Fargo, Fifth Third Bancorp, Comcast. There are so many corporations that are (voluntarily) sharing in the wealth.
The Washington Free Beacon produced an excellent intercut video comparing failed MSNBC prognostications to announcements.
Suffice to say, the left and the media are not happy about the recent developments (SEE: BITTER: Nancy Pelosi slams wage hikes, bonuses from Corporate America).
Daniel Tinus says
It all comes down to trust. Our government doesn’t trust us to care for ourselves much less each other. In short those we elect think we are like them. The reason is simple, the contract between we the people and the government that is suppose to protect our liberties has been broken. It’s time we be the change. There are real choices here in the 27th district in Texas and others.
