So, should the American people be surprised when President Trump doesn’t touch the budget, or when he proposes new taxes, like the Internet Sales Tax, or tax hikes?
During a White House meeting with senior administration officials and members of Congress from both parties on Wednesday, the president endorsed a 25-cent gas tax hike to cover his $1.5 trillion infrastructure spending plan.
Sources close to the situation say that he noted he was open to other measures to pay the infrastructure tab.
Democrats would be more inclined to the idea, but many Republicans would be apprehensive about raising the gas tax, especially since it would offset some of the tax cuts the GOP has imposed.
Here is an idea: how about a permanent gas tax holiday, and ditch any infrastructure proposal?
