The White House should just terminate John Bolton as National Security Adviser. The U.S., North Korea, and South Korea would be a lot better off if President Donald Trump or Chief of Staff John Kelly gave him the pink slip.
Last week, Bolton suggested that the U.S. government would adopt the “Libya model” for the North Korea file. Of course, as most people are aware of, Libya denuclearized and Moammar Gaddafi was overthrown and killed.
That’s a great model to adopt and tell Pyongyang that this is what Washington intends.
Because of Bolton’s remarks, as well as the U.S. military still conducting military exercises in the Korean peninsula, the Kim Jong-un regime is threatening to abandon the upcoming summit with Trump (SEE: North Korea may cancel Kim-Trump summit because of John Bolton).
Doing the right thing, the White House is distancing itself from Bolton’s comments, confirming that they are not using any Libya model.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders confirmed on Wednesday:
“I haven’t seen that that’s a specific thing. I know that that comment was made. There’s not a cookie cutter model on how this would work,” she told reporters.
“This is the President Trump model. He’s going to run this the way he sees fit. We’re 100% confident, as we’ve said many times before, as I’m sure you’re all aware, he’s the best negotiator and we’re very confident on that front.”
The Pentagon later verified that the U.S. will not send B-52 bombers to the upcoming military drill. The Kim regime feared that these bombers would serve as a preemptive strike against the communist country.
Bolton is not an asset to the Trump administration, he’s a danger. Why anyone would take him seriously is befuddling.
