So, Roseanne Barr’s ABC revival of Roseanne has been cancelled due to her tweeting that Valerie Jarrett was the product of the “Planet of the Apes” and an Islamist terrorist group. This caused quite the uproar, prompting ABC to cancel the highly successful television series.
ABC is a private company and it can do whatever it wants, even if it is hypocritical in the process.
That said, it was an interesting turn of events, especially considering all the other inflammatory things that Disney, ABC, and other company figures have uttered.
But this establishes an interesting precedent. If you compare any person to an ape or a monkey, then will you be labelled a racist and subsequently lose your job?
OK. Let’s look at all the times prominent leftist individuals or companies said the same thing about conservatives or Republicans.
The Huffington Post: “Bush Looks An Awful Lot Like A Monkey”
NPR: “Portraying Obama As Chimp Not Like Showing Bush As One”
Metro: “Monkey looks like George W Bush”
Erin Burnett when she was at MSNBC:
Jimmy Kimmel:
I guess it’s only fair that @ABCNetwork fire @JimmyKimmel too for comparing people to apes. pic.twitter.com/UIMXtWQ3IX

Bill Maher:
Wanda Sykes:

And then there’s MSNBC’s Joy-Ann Reid…
Where are the journalists with their pitchforks?
That said, it was pretty strange for conservatives to hitch their wagon to Barr and her show in the first place.

Roseanne is the modern-day Archie Bunker but her references to the Planet of the Apes and to the Muslim Brotherhood were not racist at all. Both references are about political power run amok – exactly what VJ did approving warrants to tap Trump’s wires. In the Planet of the Apes, human space explorers crash on an unknown planet run by intelligent apes who evolved. In the last scene, the Statue of Liberty is shown revealing that the space explorers are actually back on earth and humans have blown the place up. A similar lesson is seen in the reference to the Muslim Brotherhood – a group elected to power in Egypt that quickly set progress and tolerance back.
The suggestion that VJ is a child of reactionary politics is great sarcasm easily missed by the ignorant at ABC and those who intentionally want to spotlight victims of an association between black humans and apes for political reasons.

Aww come on you expect the average mis-educated American to grasp that even though it’s true? You are still spot on!

The double standards are so blatant but always not brought to the Peoples attention.
If more understood this they would call out the double standards and loudly laugh at those who perpetrate it.
