Socialism is the next big political idea infiltrating the United States, populist movements, the Democratic Party, and the rest of the world. This is why people like Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders are in the position they are.
Yet, it becomes quite comical when socialists either use or influence the marketplace. Senator Sanders has made millions of dollars selling socialism, while Che Guevara t-shirts have become big business. Nothing says you hate capitalism more than owning multiple properties and selling marked up apparel.
She may not be personally selling the lipstick, but socialist-loving consumers are heading to the store in droves to buy it.
According to CBS News, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s lipstick is selling out across the country.
From the network:
“The color — Stila’s “Stay All Day” liquid lipstick in a shade called Besos — has since sold out on multiple websites, as first reported by Quartz. As of Friday afternoon, the $22 product remained sold out on Sephora’s website, but seemed to be restocked on Stila’s website and on Ulta.com.”
Despite socialism and its disciples vilifying free markets and promoting the nationalization of industry, AOC and her supporters taking advantage of the capitalist system for something like lipstick.
The lipstick market is still quite big, too.
From P&S Market Research:
“The increasing urbanization, improvement in lifestyle, and trend of picture posting on social media are the key factors, encouraging the use of cosmetic products. Lipstick is one of those lifestyle products, which is affordable for every individual belonging to every section of the society.
In the developed countries, especially in Eastern Europe, the demand for lipstick has been increasing at a swift pace. The increasing number of working women is one of the key factors responsible for the increased usage of cosmetic products. The time spent by people on social media is increasing, which is boosting their appearance consciousness. The increasing young population in the developing countries, along with the growing disposable income of the people, is resulting in increased cosmetic product sales including lipsticks, which is further fuelling the growth of the global lipstick market. In order to encourage the consumers to purchase lipsticks in the developing countries, the key lipstick manufacturers, including L’Oreal Paris, are offering their products at low price.”
Again, nothing says capitalism is evil than buying an unnecessary item at $22.
