For 33 seasons, the iconic William F. Buckley hosted the superb political talk show, “Firing Line with William F. Buckley.”
The show featured great discussions with important people of the day, ranging from Groucho Marx to Ron Paul, from Ronald Reagan to Margaret Thatcher. What made the show remarkable, however, was Buckley himself. It could be hard to agree with Buckley on a lot of issues, but he was still a treat to watch, thanks to his accent, 10-dollar words, and questions.
Well, the program is returning to PBS that will feature Margaret Hoover, the great-granddaughter of former President Herbert Hoover and a boring centrist who will not take on controversial views, invite controversial guests, and will only permit allowable opinions on the talk show.
Reason sat down with Hoover to talk about the legendary show’s return to television:
The key question is: will she promise to sock someone in the nose?
