The U.S. government will be imposing sanctions on Iran, months after the Trump administration scrapped the Obama-era nuclear agreement.
As part of the sanctions, Iran will be banned from using U.S. dollars, trading in cars, metals, and metals, and buying U.S. and European aircraft.
“We will work closely with nations conducting business with Iran to ensure complete compliance,” President Donald Trump said in a statement. “Individuals or entities that fail to wind down activities with Iran risk severe consequences.”
