Well, in a 12-hour timespan, the biggest tech companies colluded to censor a voice they disagreed with.
It was discovered on Monday that Apple, Spotify, Facebook, and Google/YouTube decided to purge Alex Jones and Infowars. If you try to find a podcast on Spotify, you won’t find it. If you want to watch an Infowars newscast on YouTube, you won’t find it.
And that’s that.
First, let’s get the obligatory comment out of the way: these are private companies and they can censor whoever and whatever they want.
With that out of the way, it is truly nauseating to witness the left celebrate censorship. What’s interesting about this is the fact that the left was supposed to champion and defend free speech, even with speech they disapproved of. Yet, the left is having a great time this week as the opposition gets censored.
Of course, what’s hilarious is that the left is suddenly supporting free market capitalism, and stating that these are private companies, yet they want to force a baker to bake cakes.
Here are some of the tweets:
Apple and Facebook are private corporations who have the right to set standards for what appears on their platforms. There are fools who believe the fiction #infowars spews and they offer no disclaimer. They are grifters. Infowars is #fakenews. https://t.co/NK7qW9f5Ss

Yep. This will only get him off the official Podcasts app and iTunes, but he’ll still be available elsewhere. It’s a start. Also, queue the “OMG my First Amendment!” trolls.

Next up, provided that @Google & @YouTube do the right thing: end Infowars/@RealAlexJones on the YouTube platform.
Do they want to aid & abet in the destruction of our democracy, the rise of dangerous conspiracies that result in violence, the deterioration of American intellect?

Alex Jones and Infowars can be crazy most of the time, but to prohibit them is absurd.
In the end, it looks like CNN got its way. The Counterfeit News Network threw a temper tantrum at Facebook and other tech giants to ban the competition. Brian Stelter and CNN finally got their way.
So much for leftist tolerance…
Now, if these companies wish to be consistent in fighting against hate speech, they should start banning The New York Times for racist hate speech.
Of course, that won’t happen. You must adhere to the hive, otherwise you’ll be sent to the gulags.
