The Counterfeit News Network is having a difficult time attracting viewers. Is it because people are sick and tired of the fake news, Trump Derangement Syndrome, and double standards at the network? Perhaps.
So, how bad are CNN’s ratings right now?
Well, they’re worse than last year’s.
According to Nielsen Media Research data, CNN ranked eighth in primetime and sixth for total day viewership.
CNN averaged 1.01 million total viewers in primetime for the week ending August 19, which represents a 23 percent drop from the same time a year ago. CNN also averaged 686,000 total day viewers, which accounts for a 24 percent decline compared to a year ago.
Simply put: CNN has lost a quarter of its audience in a year.
So, who is CNN losing to exactly? On basic cable at primetime, CNN is getting beaten by Fox News, MSNBC, HGTV, USA, ESPN, History, and Discovery. On basic cable during the day, CNN is losing not only to Fox and MSNBC, but also Nickelodeon and HGTV.
In other words, CNN is getting beaten by cartoons, professional wrestling, and home improvement shows.
If it weren’t for forced viewing at airports, it’d likely be a lot lower.
In the famous words of legendary MLB pitcher, Dennis Eckersley, “Yuck.”

They are getting exactly what they deserve. And for the sorry folks actually forced to endure them: I empathize with you.
