Let’s be honest: most of the right cannot stand Big Tech, whether it is Facebook or Google. Therefore, they are willing for the government to intervene in the free market and exact revenge on these companies for censoring the right.
It’s a slippery slope and blatant hypocrisy.
These are private companies and they have the right to censor users, manipulate algorithms, and operate their business how ever they see fit.
Pandering to his base, President Donald Trump went on a Twitter tirade complaining about Google and the “Fake News Media”:
Google search results for “Trump News” shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake News Media. In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost all stories & news is BAD. Fake CNN is prominent. Republican/Conservative & Fair Media is shut out. Illegal? 96% of….

….results on “Trump News” are from National Left-Wing Media, very dangerous. Google & others are suppressing voices of Conservatives and hiding information and news that is good. They are controlling what we can & cannot see. This is a very serious situation-will be addressed!

Meanwhile, top White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow told reporters that the administration is “taking a look” at potentially regulating Google searches.
Larry Kudlow, President Donald Trump’s top economic adviser, says the administration is “taking a look” at the possibility of regulating Google searches.
But it is not the government’s job to tell the private sector how to operate their businesses. If you don’t like it, then use Bing, check out DuckDuckGo, or peruse Yahoo! That’s the best way to make these businesses stop manipulating feeds or targeting those who hold differing opinions.
